Gregory De Vries is the Managing Partner at Heritage Landscapes, a preservation landscape architecture firm in Charlotte, VT. With an extensive body of work in historic places, Greg's project experience includes the renewal of numerous landscapes originally designed by the firm begun by Frederick Law Olmsted. On behalf of the Vermont chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects, he investigated the archives of the Olmsted National Historic Site in Brookline, MA to reveal 34 projects by the firm in our state. Ranging from the nationally acclaimed to obscure, 18 resulted in substantial work between 1884 and 1979. An expert in heritage projects, Greg holds master's degrees in landscape architecture and cultural anthropology. Since 2003, his work guides integrated culture-nature planning and design for scores of National Historic Landmarks, National Parks, State Department properties, and heritage sites abroad.
