Village Beautification
To fulfill our Quechee Garden Club mission, members assume responsibility for planting, maintaining, and preserving Quechee Village gardens for the enjoyment of residents and visitors. We also meet in December to decorate the Village for the holidays. All Club members - and members of the community - are encouraged to participate.
Plant Sale
The Quechee Garden Club holds a Plant Sale each year near Memorial Day featuring perennial plants from members’ gardens and annuals and herbs from local greenhouses. The funds raised are used for the beautification of our village and other garden club projects.
Memorial Garden
The Memorial Garden is an ongoing project of the Club on the Village Green that honors past members. Also, trees are planted in memory of past members.
Wildlife Garden
The Wildlife Garden is an area of native plants adjacent to the Quechee Green which is designated as a “Certified Wildlife Habitat” by the National Wildlife Federation. The Quechee Garden Club maintains a path through the area with a guide to native plants and wildlife. All are welcome to visit.
Scholarship Program
Each year the Quechee Garden Club awards a scholarship to a local student who is pursuing studies in horticulture, forestry, or the environmental/biological sciences.
Civic Pride
The Quechee Garden Club participates in Vermont Green-Up Day, has granted funds to local schools for a conservation program and is involved in other community projects. In 2011, the Quechee Community Garden was created on the Quechee Village Green with the support of the Garden Club, the Town of Hartford, the White River Rotary Club and Quechee Lakes Landowners Association (QLLA).
