The Beauty of the Spring Bulb with Landscape Designer, Jenny Talbot

Jenny Talbot of Talbot's Creative Gardening in Cambridge, MA will be giving a talk on "The Beauty of Spring Bulbs." Jenny, who has been creating beautiful landscapes in the greater Boston area for the last 24 years, will talk about designing spectacular spring bulb gardens, share some of her favorite stories, bulbs and varieties, and answer questions.
*There will be spring bulbs available for purchase at this event.
Heritage Landscapes with Greg DeVries
Gregory De Vries is the Managing Partner at Heritage Landscapes, a preservation landscape architecture firm in Charlotte, VT. With an extensive body of work in historic places, Greg's project experience includes the renewal of numerous landscapes originally designed by the firm begun by Frederick Law Olmsted. On behalf of the Vermont chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects, he investigated the archives of the Olmsted National Historic Site in Brookline, MA to reveal 34 projects by the firm in our state. Ranging from the nationally acclaimed to obscure, 18 resulted in substantial work between 1884 and 1979. An expert in heritage projects, Greg holds master's degrees in landscape architecture and cultural anthropology. Since 2003, his work guides integrated culture-nature planning and design for scores of National Historic Landmarks, National Parks, State Department properties, and heritage sites abroad.

Full-Day Field Trip to Shelburne Farms with Lunch and a Visit to Paul Wieczoreck’s Home Garden
Join us for this exciting trip planned to visit Shelburne Farms on June 26, with a rain date set for June 27.
The day will be enriched by the expertise of horticulturist Paul Wieczoreck, who has graciously invited us to explore his personal gardens on our way back from Shelburne Farms.
Event details:
Location: Shelburne Farms Inn, 1611 Harbor Road, Shelburne, VT
9:00 am: Departure - Carpooling from the Base Lodge at the Quechee Club. Carpooling info is available in the RSVP form below.
11:00 am - 12:30 pm: Tour of the Shelburne Farms Inn Formal Gardens. The tour cost is $15 per person, payable on the day in cash, credit card, or check.
1:00 pm: Lunch at Vermont National Country Club (1227 Dorset St., S. Burlington). Orders will be off the menu, payment by cash or credit card.
2:30 pm: Visit to Paul's gardens in Hinesburg at 2800 Lincoln Hill Rd, Hinesburg, approximately 25 minutes from the country club.
4:30 - 5:00 pm: Estimated return to Quechee

Plant Sale Guidelines to Minimize the Chance of Jumping Worm Spread

Jumping worm cocoons are very small (2 to 4 mm, approximately 1/12 to 1/6 inches) and are often undetected in soil or compost.

Originating as an initiative for the centennial in 2021 at Arlington National Cemetery for the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, the Never Forget Garden concept holds deep meaning and significance.

Executive Director Jenevra Wetmore will give an overview of Sustainable Woodstock's work and advocacy in the Upper Valley, including the ways that Sustainable Woodstock is working to address climate change and reduce carbon emissions on-the-ground. Learn about the two community gardens run by Sustainable Woodstock, and our ongoing efforts to address food insecurity by donating produce and "grow your own garden" kits to low-income families. Town Greens Wreath Decorating Location: Base Lodge
QUECHEE GARDEN CLUB WREATH SALE 2023
We shall again decorate our wonderful Quechee Village with aromatic wreaths from the Piermont Plant Pantry in December. Personal orders may also be placed by contacting Marge Gray below and sending check to the Quechee Garden Club, P O Box 653, Quechee VT 05059. Orders must be received by November 20. Deliveries will be made at the Base Lodge on Tuesday, December 5 between 8 and 10 a.m. If you will be out of town on that day, please let Marge Gray know and she will arrange pickup/delivery at another time/place. Not only will you get the best looking and smelling wreath available, you also will help fund the 45 wreaths we install at the Section Signs, P O, Library, and the Quechee Covered Bridge!
Prices will remain the same as last year, which is a miracle considering how supermarket prices have risen this year. These wreaths come WITHOUT RIBBONS. The wreath costs are as follows:
